Managing your Products
When transactions are imported into Galvix—whether through a billing system integration or a CSV upload—the platform automatically detects the associated products. Each unique product is recorded and listed on the Products page, accessible from the left navigation menu.
From this page, you can review all detected products, manage their taxability settings, and make updates as needed to ensure accurate tax calculations.

Tax Categories
Galvix cannot calculate tax for products without an assigned tax category. Products without a tax category will be flagged as errors and highlighted for review. You can find these by navigating to the Actions Required tab.
Additionally, it's important to assign each product the correct tax category to ensure accurate tax calculations. Incorrect tax category assignments may result in discrepancies in transaction tax amounts.
Handling New Products and Assigning Tax Categories
If no default tax category is set for your business, all newly imported products in Galvix will be flagged as errors. This means Galvix won't be able to calculate taxes for transactions that include these products.
To resolve this, you can manually assign tax categories to the affected products by following these steps:
Assign Tax Categories in Bulk:
- Select one or multiple products using the checkboxes on the listing page.
- Click ‘Bulk Actions’.
- Choose ‘Update Tax Category’ from the menu.
- In the form that appears:
- Update the Type if needed.
- Product
- Tax
- Select the appropriate Tax Category.
- Update the Type if needed.
- Click ‘Save’ to apply the changes.
Assign Tax Categories Individually:
- Click on a product from the listing page to open its details.
- Click ‘Update Tax Category’.
- In the form that appears:
- Update the Type if needed
- Product
- Tax
- Select the appropriate Tax Category.
- Update the Type if needed
- Click ‘Save’ to complete the update.
Auto-Assigning Tax Categories
If needed, you can set a default tax category for your products. Once assigned, any new products imported into Galvix will automatically be categorized using the selected default tax category. While this helps reduce manual effort, reviewing and updating individual products is important if the default category doesn’t apply to them.
Products that have been auto-categorized will be marked with an icon for easy identification. You can also switch to the ‘Auto-Categorized’ tab to view only these products.
At this time, default tax categories cannot be set directly in Galvix. To assign one, please contact us at support@galvix.com.
