Approving a Return
Once Galvix creates a return, it will appear on the Returns page with the status "Ready for Review." By switching to the "Actions Required" tab, you can quickly filter and view all returns that require review. You should review each return to ensure data accuracy before approving it.
The Return Info card provides a breakdown of how the amount due is calculated. Pay close attention to the tax difference—if it has a positive or negative value, it indicates tax over-collection or under-collection.
You can learn more about:
- Tax over-collection and how to fix it by reading this article.
- Tax under-collection and how to fix it by reading this article.
Once you have reviewed a return, you can approve it by clicking the "Approve" button in the header of the details page and confirming the action in the dialog box.
To approve multiple returns at once:
- Select the checkboxes next to the returns on the listing page.
- Click "Bulk Actions" → "Approve."
- Confirm the action to approve the selected returns together.
Once a return is approved, Galvix will file it with the respective jurisdiction. Any confirmations or acknowledgments related to the filing, such as payment receipts, will be available under the "Attachments" section on the Return Details page.
If a return is not approved by the Approval Deadline, Galvix will automatically approve it.
Changes made to tax categories, customer exemptions, or other tax-related data will not impact transactions that are already part of an approved or filed return.
