Integrate Galvix & WooCommerce

Overview

Galvix Tax is a WooCommerce plugin that calculates sales tax on your store's orders automatically. Once you install the plugin and connect it to your store using a unique Galvix API token, the Galvix Tax API calculates tax on every cart and order in real time.

With Galvix Tax connected, your store gets:

• Tax calculated from the customer's destination address
• Real-time tax rates retrieved from the Galvix Tax API
• Tax applied to each cart and order line item individually
• Per-item tax shown in the cart, at checkout, on orders, and in emails
• Tax amounts saved to the order record

This article walks through installing the plugin, activating it, connecting it to your Galvix account, and confirming the connection works.

Before you begin

Make sure you have the following before you start:

• Administrator access to your WordPress/WooCommerce admin panel
• WooCommerce installed and active on your site
• Your Galvix API token, provided by the Galvix support team. Each token is unique to your store, so don't share it outside your organization or paste it anywhere other than the Galvix Tax settings page

Installation and configuration steps

Step 1: Open the Plugins page

Log in to your WooCommerce admin panel and click Plugins in the left-hand menu.

Step 2: Add a new plugin

At the top of the Plugins page, click Add Plugin.

Step 3: Search for and install Galvix Tax

Search for Galvix and click Install on the Galvix Tax plugin.

Step 4: Activate the plugin

Go back to the Plugins page. Galvix Tax now appears in your list of installed plugins. Click Activate under the plugin name. A "Plugin activated" confirmation message appears.

Step 5: Open the Galvix Tax settings

Under Galvix Tax on the Plugins page, click Settings. The Galvix Tax Settings page opens. You can also reach it later at WooCommerce > Galvix Tax.

Step 6: Configure the settings

Step 7: Test the connection

Click Test Connection. If the configuration is correct, a success message appears, for example:

✓ Connection successful! Test calculation returned $0.00 in taxes.

If the test fails, contact the Galvix support team for help.

Step 8: Save your settings

Click Save Settings.

Quick reference checklist

• Go to Plugins > Add Plugin
• Search for Galvix and install
• Activate Galvix Tax
• Open Settings for Galvix Tax
• Select Enable automatic tax calculation via Galvix API
• Enter your API token
• (Optional) Enable Debug Mode
• Click Test Connection and confirm success
• Click Save Settings

Troubleshooting

Test Connection fails. Double-check that you copied the full API token with no extra spaces, and that WooCommerce is active on the site. If it still fails, contact the Galvix support team with your store URL so they can verify the token on their end.

Tax isn't showing at checkout. Confirm the Enable automatic tax calculation via Galvix API checkbox is selected and that you clicked Save Settings afterward. Galvix Tax calculates tax from the customer's destination address, so an incomplete shipping or billing address at checkout can also prevent a tax amount from showing.

Need more detail on an issue. Turn on Debug Mode in the Galvix Tax settings, reproduce the issue, then review the log at WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Share the relevant log entries with Galvix support if you need to escalate.

Orders in other currencies. Galvix Tax currently supports USD only. Orders placed in any other currency will not have Galvix-calculated tax applied.
