Integrate Galvix & BigCommerce
Connecting your BigCommerce store to Galvix automates sales tax calculation at checkout and supports with automating sales tax compliance.
Once connected, Galvix securely imports transaction, product and customer data from your BigCommerce store. Using this information, Galvix can:
- Calculate accurate taxes: apply the correct jurisdiction-level sales tax to every BigCommerce order in real time.
- Prepare draft returns: generate sales tax return drafts from your synced transactions.
- Track nexus: monitor sales across states and alert you as economic nexus thresholds are approached, met or exceeded.
This guide walks you through the setup in three parts:
- Install the Galvix Sales Tax app from the BigCommerce App Marketplace
- Connect your store to Galvix and activate the integration
- Set Galvix as the tax provider in BigCommerce
How the integration works
Once your BigCommerce store is connected to Galvix, here is what happens:
- Authorization: you install the Galvix Sales Tax app and grant it read access to your store's customers, orders, products and store settings. Galvix cannot access your password.
- Data sync: Galvix imports transactions from the import start date you choose, then keeps syncing new orders.
- Tax determination: BigCommerce sends each U.S. checkout to Galvix, which returns the correct sales tax for the shopper's address, registration status, product taxability and jurisdiction rules.
Before you begin
Make sure you have the following ready:
