Managing your Registrations
Registering for sales tax with the appropriate tax authorities is essential when your business establishes an economic or physical nexus in a state. You can either complete the registration process yourself or reach out to registrations@galvix.com for assistance.
Once registered, you must add your registration details to Galvix. Without this information, you will not be able to schedule returns for that state, and Galvix will not begin calculating taxes on new transactions within that jurisdiction.

Adding a Registration
To add a new registration, navigate to Registrations from the left menu. Here, you'll see a list of any existing registrations that were already added. Click on "Add Registration" to begin.
In the form that appears:
- Select the jurisdiction where you are registered.
- You cannot add registrations for Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, or Oregon, as these states do not have sales tax.
- Confirm your registration status by selecting "Yes" for the question: "Are you currently registered for sales tax in this jurisdiction?"
- Enter your registration date (the date you were registered for sales tax in that state).
- Optionally, enter your Sales Tax ID for reference.
- Save your registration:
- Click "Save and Add Next" to continue adding more registrations.
- Click "Save and Close" to complete the process.
Updating a Registration
You can update the details of a registration added in Galvix if there is incorrect information.
However, be aware that:
- Galvix calculated taxes from the "Registered On" date provided in the original registration.
- Updating this date will trigger tax recalculations for all transactions that occurred from the original registration date onward.
- Returns that have already been approved or filed will not be affected by tax recalculations.
To update a registration:
- Navigate to Registrations from the left menu.
- Click on the registration you want to update to open its details page.
- Click "Edit". In the form that appears, you can edit:
- 'Registered On' date.
- Sales Tax ID
Click "Save" to apply your updates.
