Transactions in Galvix
Once your business transactions are imported into Galvix—either by connecting Galvix to your billing system or uploading a CSV file—you can access them by navigating to ‘Transactions’ from the left menu.
On this page, you’ll see a list of all transactions, including key details such as:
- Transaction ID
- Customer Name
- Transaction Type (Sale or Refund)
- Transaction Date
- Jurisdictions where sales tax should apply (if your business is registered there)
- Total Transaction Amount
- Tax Expected
- Actual Tax Collected
- Tax Difference (the difference between expected and collected tax)
You can use filters or the search feature to quickly find specific transactions.
If the Tax Expected and Tax Difference columns are empty (displayed as ‘-’), it could be due to one of the following reasons:
- The transaction occurred in a non-U.S. country (Galvix currently only supports U.S. tax calculations).
- Galvix does not support tax calculation in certain U.S. territories, such as Puerto Rico and some military jurisdictions. A transaction belonging to one of these territories will also be empty (displayed as ‘-’).
- It was a marketplace transaction, where tax collection is handled by the marketplace itself.
- The tax calculation for the transaction’s line items is still in progress.
- An error prevented tax calculation. Transactions with errors will be highlighted in red on the Transactions page, and you can also find them under the ‘Actions Required’ tab. There are two common types of errors:
- Invalid Address – The address provided was incomplete or missing key details needed for tax calculation.
- Invalid Tax Category – Each product must have a tax category assigned. If missing, Galvix cannot determine the tax rate for that product in a transaction.
To view more information about a transaction and its taxed line items, click on the transaction row to open its details page.
